AFTER making waves in the recently-concluded UAAP men's basketball season, Alvin Pasaol is ready to take his game to the next level.
The University of the East star is among the 201 applicants for the 2017 PBA D-League Rookie Draft which unfolds on December 12 at the PBA Cafe.
One of the top scorers in the collegiate leagues, the 6-3 Pasaol is best remembered for dropping 49 points in a 73-97 loss to Ateneo at the Mall of Asia Arena.
After the UE Red Warriors finished the season one rung above last place, Pasaol now hopes to bring that offensive repertoire to the semi-pro ranks in the hope of making it to the PBA someday.
Also headlining this batch of rookie hopefuls are Far Eastern University gunner Arvin Tolentino as well as Tamaraws teammates Hubert Cani, Richard Escoto, Joe Trinidad and Wendell Comboy.
Promising big men in Abu Tratter of UAAP runner-up La Salle, Jeo Ambohot (Letran), Christian Buñag (Mapua), Sean Manganti (Adamson), Javi Gomez di Liaño (UP), and Jayson David (San Sebastian) also declared for the draft.
The guard position is filled with prospects like Keith Pido (Perpetual), Levi dela Cruz (Arellano), Robbie Manalang (Adamson), Jordan Sta. Ana (UST), Philip Manalang (UE), and Renzo Navarro and RK Ilagan (San Sebastian) also filing their application.
The new D-League season opens on January 18.
