MANILA, Philippines - Philippine basketball legend Samboy Lim was reportedly rushed to an area hospital after collapsing during an exhibition game on Friday, November 28 at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City, Philippines.

The news first broke via Twitter by fellow former Philippine Basketball Association player Vince Hizon and was confirmed minutes later by veteran sports journalist Quinito Henson, who tweeted that retired PBA player Allan Caidic said he had played six minutes before collapsing and being rushed to a hospital.

Snow Badua of Spin.ph reports that Lim was stretching on the sidelines after leaving the game when he collapsed and was rushed to nearby Medical City, halting the game.

Known as “The Skywalker” for his acrobatic moves, the 52-year-old Lim played in the PBA from 1986-1997 for the San Miguel Beermen before joining the Philippine Basketball League’s Welcoat Paints for a season. He was named one of the PBA’s 25 Greatest Players and was elected to the PBA Hall of Fame in 1999. -
