The best amateur clubs not to make it in the PBA

Among the many amateur ballclubs and companies with no participation (other than sponsoring like Phoenix Petroleum) in sports or basketball leagues, hoping to form a professional team in the PBA, I can only think of two teams, past and present who would fit perfectly in the PBA, these are Hapee Toothpaste and Cebuana-Lhuillier, both did had a brief exposure in the league with the RP nationals, Hapee in 2002 Governor's Cup and Cebuana as guest team in the 2003 Invitational conference.

Hapee would follow the footsteps of previous amateur clubs that become successful in the PBA, Purefoods, Swifts, Sta.Lucia, Tanduay (the 2nd reincarnation), Red Bull and Rain or Shine. Cebuana-Lhuillier on the other hand, had been into the basketball scene for more than two decades now, considering the impact it will brought having an all-visayan players, only a few years back when it was rumored the Alaska Aces is gonna disband and the entry of Luigi Trillo as coach of Alaska suggest that Cebuana is taking over the franchise, To this day, I still could'nt figure out Cebuana's reluctance to have a pro team.

Somehow, I didnt include APCOR back in the early 1980s, as I thought a conference format from 1982-1983 having an even 8 teams is better than an odd 9 members, and the possibility of APCOR suffering the fate of two-year clubs Tefilin and CDCP.
